چکیده
Abstract Background Calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP) is known to be the most potent vasodilator of body, and it promotes migration inflammatory cells. CGRPβ isoform located along enteric nervous system, CGRPα mainly present in central system. key molecule migraine, an entity with digestive symptoms. It has been suggested that migraine prevalence increased bowel disease (IBD). The aim study was assess serum levels patients newly diagnosed IBD, stratified by diagnosis, unravel its potential role disease. Methods concentrations were measured ELISA (CUSABIO, China) early morning samples IBD. Classification (ulcerative colitis- UC, Crohn’s disease- CD or unclassified U-IBD), demographic data treatment during sample collection also collected. To establish a interviewed about prior diagnosis validated ID-migraine questionnaire used diagnose migraine. results compared healthy controls (HC) matched age sex. Statistical analysis performed using SPSS Mann-Whitney Dunn's tests. Results Sixty-two IBD (mean 47.9±16.3 years, 62.5% females) 71 HC 48.2±16.7 64.8% females). Samples collected between 0 249 days after stablished (median 50.5 days, interquartile range 26.75-64.5 days). We included 27 CD, 31 UC 4 U-IBD. Baseline characteristics are shown table 1. Fifteen female met criteria (22.7%). Serum significantly (59.7±26.3 pg/mL), (43.6±25.3 pg/mL, p<0.0001). remained elevated as both (74.8±27.3 p< 0.001) without (58.6±24.4 p<0.05), though those (p<0.05). These figures 1 2. Conclusion regardless which could indicate this pathophysiology results, especially higher suggest bidirectional, shared further example clinical relevance gut-brain axis. Comparison between Brain Natriuretic Peptide and Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide in Children with Dilated Cardiomyopathy
Background: Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is revealed with the left ventricular dilatation and systolic dysfunction. This study was performed to determine the level of Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide (CGRP) and Brain Natriuretic Peptide (BNP) in children with dilated cardiomyopathy and controls and comparison of these two biomarkers in patients. Materials and Methods: This case-control study was...
متن کاملP114: Rehabilitation for Inflammatory Disorder in the Brain
The diversity of neurological sequelae that may occur after an inflammatory disorder in the brain (brain abscess, encephalitis, or meningitis) provides a range of challenges to the rehabilitation team. The therapist must identify the problems underlying the individual’s movement dysfunctions without the template of the cluster of “typical” problems available with some other ne...
متن کاملCalcitonin gene - related peptide and migraine
Recent findings CGRP is widely distributed in the nervous system, particularly at anatomical areas thought to be involved with migraine, including the trigeminovascular nociceptive system. In studies, CGRP has been shown to be released during severe migraine attacks, and effective triptan treatment of an attack normalizes these levels. CGRP administration triggers migraine in patients and CGRP ...
متن کاملImplications of tachykinins and calcitonin gene-related peptide in inflammatory bowel disease.
Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and the preprotachykinin A gene-derived peptides substance P (SP) and neurokinin A (NKA) are expressed in extrinsic primary afferent nerve fibres and intrinsic enteric neurons of the gut. The actions of tachykinins on the digestive effector systems are mediated by three different types of tachykinin receptor, termed NK1, NK2 and NK3 receptors, while the ga...
